We chat this week to super-enthusiastic Sabrina Meyers, who joins us from Cologne to tell us about how she became a social media and content marketing specialist within the global events and hospitality industry.
Raised in Singapore, Sabrina realised quite quickly that a career in archeology was not going to happen (“there is no history there”), nor with her fear of fish was she set to become an expert oceanographer. So she chose instead to study hospitality, which took her to Australia and eventually led to a career working in large, luxury hotel chains. It was here that she developed her love of event management and, after spending time working in London, she finally settled in Germany.
After becoming a mother, Sabrina set up her own event management business as a freelance event planner, along with the Hot Hospitality Exchange, a forum for event and hospitality professionals to ask questions, many of which about social media, which just happens to be her passion. And with the launch of a further coaching business about take place, Sabrina is showing no signs of slowing down just yet.
Sabrina entertains us with the story of how she got to where she is today and offers some valuable advice to those wanting to succeed in the events industry. Hold onto your hat though – she’s a bit of a whirlwind!
